SUNDAY NIGHT, WEEKDAY, AND EVENING CLASSES AND STUDIES
All of our youth and children’s ministry, Bible studies, prayer groups, and small groups exist to prepare adults, youth, and children for living for Christ in the real world. We use a variety of learning methods and teaching styles, so there is a fit for every type of learner, and each class or study includes a practical, relevant application to real life – where you are. We believe the purpose of Christian education is not just to fill our minds, but to change our hearts and lives. Look through the options below to find your fit or contact us for help to find what’s just right for you.
Kids Club (K-5th) meets in the “Sonlight” room (hallway right of sanctuary) on the first Sunday of each month from 2:00-3:30pm. It’s like youth group for kids with games, snacks, an interactive lesson, playground time, and service projects… all designed for children’s active imaginations and energetic spirits. More on Children’s Ministry.
Youth Group (6th-12th) gathers weekly on Sundays from 4-6pm in the youth building (separate from main building, next to playground). Youth group includes recreation and games, worship time, a lesson, small group discussion, and dinner together. Throughout the year there will be opportunities for service projects, fun events, retreats, and summer mission projects. More on Youth Ministry.
Men’s Ministry is going strong, with regular fellowship activities. Join us for…
- Wings Night (4th Tues. of the month)
- Walk/Run Club (aka “Solemates”) on Saturday mornings at 8am at the Piper Glen Greenway (all ages welcome at those events!).
- Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) – a group just started in on Monday nights in the Fall. If you want to get in on the next round, let us know (email@example.com).
Women’s Ministry encompasses several weekly Bible studies as well as semi-annual retreats and gatherings.
Bible Study: “Angels” by David Jeremiah
Tuesday morning, 9:30-10:45 am
Location: Church Library (enter glass doors, turn left, lots of books!)
Leader: Linda Jenkins
This study is sub-titled “Angels: Who They Are and How They Help – What the Bible Reveals.”
Bible Study: “Simon Peter” by Adam Hamilton
Tuesday evening, 7:00-8:30pm
Location: Expansion Area (extra room beside sanctuary)
Leader: Barbara Thomson
This study is sub-titled: “Flawed But Faithful Disciple.” While Simon Peter’s shortcomings are clearly on display in the Gospels, so are his courage, determination, and longing to follow Jesus, even if it costs him his life.
Women of the Word: “Isaiah”
Monday evening, 6:50-8:30pm
Leader: Dr. Alison Littauer
Dr. Alison is leading this three-fold study of Isaiah this Fall – through homework, in small groups, and through lecture and line-by-line Bible study. Some big themes in Isaiah are the holiness and sovereignty of God, impatience and anxiety, and God’s plan for all nations. Begins Sept. 16, 2019. Cost is $15; more info online (wowclt.blogspot.com).
Women of the Church meets twice a year for a retreat for fellowship and spiritual growth. Contact us for more information!
