We believe people of every age should hear and know the Good News of Jesus Christ, and young people are no exception. Youth are invited to participate in an exciting youth ministry as well as fully in the life and worship of the whole church.
Youth participate in evening G-Shep youth, regular service projects, fun events, retreats, and in annual summer mission trips. There is also the opportunity for confirmation (every other year for the school year) for those ready to consider making an adult public profession of faith.
Youth also participate fully in the life and worship of the church, serving as worship team musicians (and sometimes in the choir), as lay assistants and ushers, and in many other ways. Truly we have the best of a dedicated youth program and an inter-generational church. Every young person is known and loved and we regularly welcome friends to youth group and other church activities.
G-Shep Youth (6th-12th) Youth come together twice a month on Sunday evenings for community building, fun, prayer and dinner together. There will also be opportunities for service projects. All are welcome to join! We meet in the youth building (separate from main building, next to playground).
Confirmation (for ages 12-14) This school year Pastor Robert and Christy will lead Confirmation for students. We will use the Gospel of John to consider Jesus’ teaching and ministry and what it means to trust and follow Jesus. We will also develop skills to better engage and appreciate the content of worship services. Toward the end of the Confirmation year students will be invited, but not pressured, to make an adult profession of faith. Confirmation will meet on Sunday mornings from 9:30-10:30am in the Admin area of the main building.
Missions the 2022 G-Shep Youth Missions Team served the residents of Panther, WV in partnership with Son Servants Ministries. During a week long trip, students completed various construction projects for homeowners, working alongside youth from other churches. Stay tuned for our 2023 missions trip plans!
